Remanufacturing industry originates from traditional manufacturing，It is a new industry derived from traditional manufacturing。The remanufacturing industry has appeared and developed in developed countries in Europe and America since the 1930s，The global remanufacturing industry has significant differences in levels between countries，So there is no unified explanation or concept for remanufacturing。The more popular explanation in the industry is "through a series of technological processes, used or partially damaged mechanical equipment、The industry formed by the activities of “repairing parts and components”。

At present, there is conceptual confusion about "remanufacturing" in China。For this, we need to "maintenance overhaul"、The three concepts of "refurbishment" and "remanufacturing"，Make distinctions and contrasts。It can be seen from the comparison in Table 1：Maintenance and refurbishment activities are actually a maintenance process，The core purpose is to make the used products "close to the original products"，But cannot enjoy the warranty service of new parts like remanufactured products。And “remanufacturing” means having an industrial scale，And need to meet the new product manufacturing process under relevant industry standards and specifications。From the above sorting, we can see that the remanufacturing industry has three basic characteristics：

• Remanufacturing is a professional repair process that is actually carried out after strict operation steps are carried out on the old parts that are recycled.，The professional restoration process must be based on the standards issued by the national government and relevant agencies；
• Remanufactured products can be consistent with the original new products in terms of quality and performance，Even in the whole or part of the module、Achieve a better level of functionality；
• Remanufactured product requirements to quantify production，The remanufacturing process needs to be subject to professional quality management constraints like OEM manufacturers，Carry out strict production line construction and production，Need to be the same as OEM original manufacturing。
